Auditing Courses

Non-U of T Students

Members of the GTA community who are not registered students at the University of Toronto may audit courses at the Department of Slavic & East European Languages & Cultures. Individuals interested in auditing a course must:

  1. Obtain the course instructor's permission to audit
  2. Pay the course auditing fee as determined by the Faculty of Arts & Science.
    • The auditing fee should be paid to the department's business officer Anthoula Vlahakis (Alumni Hall, 4th floor; e-mail: a.kampouris@utoronto.ca).
    • The auditing fee is $270 for a half-course, and $490 for a year-long course. Fees are payable by cash or cheque only.
    • *Refunds will only be processed within the first 30 days of registering to audit a course.  Refunds will NOT be given after 30 days.

U of T Students

The department does not allow registered U of T students, undergraduate or graduate, to audit its courses. Students interested in a course must officially enrol into that course. Scheduling or program conflicts are not a valid reason for requesting permission to audit a course.
